The terms that apply to every Terra Hibachi booking — pricing, payment, cancellations, and guest responsibilities.

Terra Hibachi provides private hibachi catering services. Our chef comes to your home, backyard, or event venue with a portable hibachi grill, fresh ingredients, and everything needed to cook a live hibachi show for you and your guests.
Each event includes a live tableside hibachi show with your choice of 2 proteins per person, plus salad, fried rice, and grilled vegetables. A typical party lasts about 90 minutes.
Our standard pricing is $60 per guest with a $600 minimum per party, calculated on total food spend — entrées, protein upgrades, appetizers, and sides all count toward the $600. Children under 5 eat free; children ages 5–12 are $30 per person.
Protein upgrades: filet mignon +$5 per person, lobster +$10 per person.
Travel fee: $1 per mile, one-way, per party, calculated on the full distance from our Stockton base in Northern California, our Southern California base, or our Nashville base in Tennessee. Travel fees do not count toward the $600 min.
A 20% chef gratuity is suggested (optional). It is calculated on your entrées and protein upgrades, and extra proteins — or on the $600 food minimum, whichever is higher — and the travel fee is never included.
Hibachi Buffet (for groups of 40 or more paying guests): $55 per guest for 40–59 guests, $50 per guest for 60–99 guests, and $45 per guest for 100 or more guests. Buffet events carry an 18% service charge calculated on the food total (never on the travel fee); the full charge goes to your chef team, and no additional gratuity is expected. Every other term — travel fee, payment, and cancellation — applies to buffet events the same way.
Cash is our preferred and recommended payment method, payable after your event.
Online payments (Zelle, Venmo, credit card) are subject to an 8.25% processing surcharge and must be completed at least 24 hours before your event. The same 8.25% surcharge applies to card payments made on site.
We do not require a deposit to hold your date.
Guests provide their own tables, chairs, plates, utensils, and drinks. Terra Hibachi brings the chef, grill, ingredients, sake, and cooking equipment.
A flat, stable outdoor cooking area with reasonable access is required. In case of rain, the guest is responsible for providing a covered cooking area (tent, patio, or awning) so our chef can cook safely.
All cancellations and rescheduled parties require a minimum of 48 hours notice. Cancellations or rescheduling made with less than 48 hours notice are subject to a $200 fee. Please see our Refund Policy for full details.
Weather exception. Terra Hibachi cooks outdoors only. If, on the day of your event, the forecast or actual conditions at your venue include heavy rain, lightning, or other severe weather that makes outdoor cooking unsafe, and your venue does not have a fully open covered area (such as a covered patio or porch) where our chef can cook, you may reschedule your event once, free of charge — the $200 fee does not apply, even when the decision is made within 48 hours of your event. The new date is subject to availability and is set by mutual agreement. We ask that you contact us as early as possible on the day of your event so we can make the decision together. This exception does not apply when a covered area is available, or when the weather does not affect the safety of cooking outdoors; in those cases, your event proceeds as planned or the standard policy above applies.
Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions when booking. While we take allergies seriously and cook with care, our grill is a shared cooking surface and we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
Our chefs may take photos or short videos during your event for our website and social media. If you prefer not to be photographed, just let us know before or during the event and we will respect your wishes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Terra Hibachi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the event in question.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version posted on this page at the time of your booking applies to your event.
